In 2019, SEIA laid out a vision for the 2020s in our Roadmap for the Solar+ Decade. In that roadmap, we set a target for solar energy to reach 20% of generation by 2030 as the U.S. transforms the electric grid and builds a robust clean energy economy.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — As America passes three million solar installations, the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is formally launching SolarAPP+ to help state and local governments to streamline and automate rooftop solar permits. After 40 years of growth, America reached 1 million solar installations in 2016, 2 million in 2019, and 3 million in 2021. With the help of SolarAPP+, the U.S. will double its solar installations to 6 million by 2026.
SEIA submitted a letter to House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Richie Neal (D-MA), articulating the industry's priorities for the once-in-a-generation infrastructure legislation currently under consideration. An excerpt from the letter is included below and you can read the full letter at the link above.
Employee Resource Groups are a key component of any organization's commitment to create an inclusive culture and foster a sense of belonging. SEIA has developed a sample charter and overview document to adapt and utilize when launching ERGs at your company.
Since 2010, the National Solar Jobs Census has been the definitive measure of solar energy industry employment in the United States, charting the growth of the solar workforce alongside the rise of solar energy as a major contributor to the U.S. energy supply and economy as a whole.
Building on the industry’s work to promote corporate social responsibility, SEIA is releasing three key resources:
The ability to trace the provenance of products and components through the value chain, from input materials to the finished product, is necessary and important for a variety of reasons, including sustainability, environment, health, and safety (EHS), and social responsibility. From upholding corporate social responsibility principles to quality assurance and environmental performance, robust product traceability provides openness and transparency.
